Olympics Closing Ceremony 2012 - The Closing Ceremony of the London 2012 Summer Olympics will be on 12 August in the Olympic Stadium. The worldwide broadcast will get under way at 21:00 BST (UTC+1) and is planned to finish by about 23:45. There will be an estimated global audience of 750 million.The ceremony will include a handover to the next host city for the 2016 Summer Olympics, Rio de Janeiro.The closing ceremony will broadcast in full HD 1080 p by various TV channels.

The creative director and choreographer of the ceremony is Kim Gavin.Also involved are designer Es Devlin, music director David Arnold and lighting director Patrick Woodroffe alongside executive producer Stephen Daldry. Daldry described the Olympic closing ceremony as "one of the most exciting events I have ever seen".
Watchers should also be able to spot the link with Shakespeare's The Tempest which will run through all the ceremonies."It is there and it is a great moment," he said. Ms Devlin said they had happily indulged in the chance to "visually draw on everything" that British imagination can offer.Music director David Arnold said: “It’s going to be beautiful, cheeky, cheesy, camp, silly and thrilling".
There will be around 4,100 performers including 3,500 adult volunteers, 380 schoolchildren from the six original host boroughs, and 250 professionals. There are around 15 rehearsals for volunteers taking place in Three Mills Studio and at a full scale site in Dagenham, East London.
The overall budget for all four Olympic and Paralympic ceremonies is £80 million, which is twice the original budget. With the opening ceremony set to cost £27 million, the remainder will be shared across the other three ceremonies.
