Astro X Factor record deal - Former “X Factor” contestant Astro, who locked horns with show creator Simon Cowell, has inked a record deal with Epic, astro x factor record deal, the Daily News has learned.

It’s no coincidence that the chairman and CEO of Epic Records is L.A. Reid, one of the judges on the show. Reid served as Astro’s mentor on the show.
Astro, whose real name is Brian Bradley, made it to the top 10 of the popular Fox television talent show — and not without clashing with Cowell. melanie amaro epic records,
Astro, who was among the final seven contestants, drew flak for his cocky attitude.
He even refused to perform when he was on the verge of being voted off the show, and talked back to Cowell while shedding some tears.
He would later apologize.
Despite his actions, the rapper’s popularity continued to soar. He now has nearly 200,000 followers on Twitter.
"I owe it to all my fans," said Astro.
He also had a special message for Reid. "Thank you for believing in me," he said. "I’m just grateful to be able to work with someone like (Reid)."
Astro has already been in the studio, and his freshman album is due this year.
"This is five years in the making," he said, noting the time he’s been rapping without a deal.
"Now that I have a deal I can take advantage of it and take over the game," he said.
Astro, short for the Astronomical Kid, joins a stable of artists that includes Brandy, Jennifer Lopez, Sean Kingston and Shakira.
He couldn’t say if he’d be working with any of his new label mates — or any other artists — on his first offering.
"I’m just excited to see myself on billboards," he said. "I’m getting ready to be a star."
