Joe Haden Booted, Joe Haden’s training camp — and a stormy one for the Browns — ended before any of his teammates were finished. Arguably Cleveland’s best defensive player, Haden was kicked off the practice field Wednesday by coach Pat Shurmur, who felt the third-year cornerback was being too physical with rookie wide receiver Travis Benjamin during a passing drill on the final day of workouts open to fans.

Cycling Spectator Arrest For Not Smiling
Cycling Spectator Arrest For Not Smiling - London police worried about Olympic security spotted a man along a route for cyclists who looked suspicious to them. He looked almost grim, and with the cyclists approaching, they feared he might be up to something. After officers handcuffed him and took him to the local station, they learned the reason why 54-year Mark Worsfold looked the way he did: He has Parkinson’s, and the muscles on his face are often rigid, reports the Guardian.

Kobe Talks Retirement
Kobe Talks Retirement - The thought first hit Kobe Bryant when the Lakers lost to the Boston Celtics in the 2008 NBA Finals — maybe Shaquille O’Neal was right. “I thought maybe I can’t win a title without Shaq. I thought that is my one opportunity and I blew it,” Bryant said. The Lakers’ Kobe Bryant talks in an interview with Yahoo!Sports’ Graham Bensinger.
History and Bryant, of course, proved Shaq wrong as the Lakers won two titles without the Big Diesel. But that is just one topic Bryant touches on in a wide-ranging interview with Yahoo!Sports’ Graham Bensinger.
Bryant said that the Celtics not only provided him with one of his lowest moments, but also one of the greatest in his 17-year career. Of all the games he has played since joining the NBA at age 17, rallying from a 15-point deficit in Game 7 of the 2010 NBA Finals to win his fifth championship remains his greatest highlight.
“That was the hardest one,” Bryant said, pointing out that the victory came against four future Hall-of-Famers.
Bryant also reflected on the effects the dismissed sexual assault charges had on him in 2002. He said facing criminal charges changed his outlook on himself and what’s really important in life.
“That’s real pressure,” he said. “That’s life pressure. That’s not a game-winning shot where if you make it, you win and if you don’t you don’t. That (facing possible jail time) is real pressure. ”
Bryant, 34, also held fast to a comment he made during his first NBA season when he said that at age 35 he would be retired and “relaxing with his family overseas.”
“That’s still probably accurate. I don’t know if I will play longer than that,” he told Bensinger, adding that there are several things he can no longer do at his age.
“I don’t have the same motor,” he said.

2012 USA Olympic Uniforms
2012 USA Olympic Uniforms - Uniforms for U.S. Olympic athletes are red, white and blue — but made in China. That has members of Congress fuming. Republicans and Democrats railed Thursday about the U.S. Olympic Committee’s decision to dress the U.S. team in Chinese manufactured berets, blazers and pants while the American textile industry struggles economically with many U.S. workers desperate for jobs.
”I am so upset. I think the Olympic committee should be ashamed of themselves. I think they should be embarrassed. I think they should take all the uniforms, put them in a big pile and burn them and start all over again,” Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., told reporters at a Capitol Hill news conference on taxes.
”If they have to wear nothing but a singlet that says USA on it, painted by hand, then that’s what they should wear,” he said, referring to an athletic jersey.
House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi told reporters at her weekly news conference that she’s proud of the nation’s Olympic athletes, but ”they should be wearing uniforms that are made in America.”
House Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio, said simply of the USOC, ”You’d think they’d know better.”
In a statement, the U.S. Olympic Committee defended the choice of designer Ralph Lauren for the clothing at the London Games, which begin later this month.
”Unlike most Olympic teams around the world, the U.S. Olympic Team is privately funded and we’re grateful for the support of our sponsors,” USOC spokesman Patrick Sandusky said in a statement. ”We’re proud of our partnership with Ralph Lauren, an iconic American company, and excited to watch America’s finest athletes compete at the upcoming Games in London.”
Ralph Lauren also is dressing the Olympic and Paralympic teams for the closing ceremony and providing casual clothes to be worn around the Olympic Village. Nike has made many of the competition uniforms for the U.S. and outfits for the medal stand.
On Twitter, Sandusky called the outrage over the made-in-China uniforms nonsense. The designer, Sandusky wrote, ”financially supports our team. An American company that supports American athletes.”
Ralph Lauren’s company declined to comment on the criticism.
In fact, this is not the first time that Ralph Lauren has designed the Olympic uniforms. Yet that did little to quell the anger on Capitol Hill.
”It is not just a label, it’s an economic solution,” said Rep. Steve Israel, D-N.Y. ”Today there are 600,000 vacant manufacturing jobs in this country and the Olympic committee is outsourcing the manufacturing of uniforms to China? That is not just outrageous, it’s just plain dumb. It is self-defeating.”
Israel urged the USOC to reverse the decision and ensure U.S. athletes wear uniforms that are made in America.
Sens. Sherrod Brown, D-Ohio, and Kirsten Gillibrand, D-N.Y., separately sent letters to Lawrence Probst III, chairman of the USOC, complaining about the made-in-China uniforms. Brown suggested that the USOC find a manufacturer with a facility in the United States, suggesting the Hugo Boss plant in Cleveland.

Mike Krzyzewski Supports Luol Deng
Mike Krzyzewski Supports Luol Deng - Mike Krzyzewski Supports Luol Deng, Chicago Bulls forward Luol Deng has faced some criticism for his decision to put off wrist surgery in order to play for the British team in the London Olympics later this summer, but Team USA coach Mike Krzyzewski Supports Luol Deng.
“I love the fact that he is that loyal to his country,” said Krzyzewski, who coached Deng at Duke. “Luol is one of the great guys on this planet, and besides being a very talented player, he has a heart and feelings of a remarkable guy. Great Britain did something for his country, for his family that saved their lives. His dad was in exile in Great Britain, so there’s an allegiance there. I love the fact he feels that way. I’m proud of him, I’m proud to have coached him and I’m even more proud to be his friend. He’s one exceptional human being.”
When asked whether he understood why the Bulls would be upset with Deng for putting off the surgery, Krzyzewski reiterated his support for the All-Star forward, saying he believes this experience will make his former player stronger.
“I’m not going to deal with that,” the Hall of Fame coach said. “Obviously, they have their concerns. I’m not saying who’s right or wrong. I’m just saying that an individual has the right to make that type of decision unless it says something contractually that he should not. So my feeling on it is, Luol will have his best year as a Bull next year as a result of making this type of commitment because he’s loyal and he’s … the best. He’s one of the great guys.”
Deng acknowledged recently to ESPN.com after a training session with Britain that the Bulls’ brass didn’t want him to play in the Olympics.
“I wouldn’t want me to play (in the Olympics), either,” he said. “(Bulls executive vice president John Paxson) is an athlete, and, as an athlete who used to play, Pax understands me wanting to play. But as a GM, that’s his job to try and get the team healthy and get the team ready for next year. I understand both sides to it.
“But it comes down to an injury that happened at the wrong time. I just try to let people know I’m going to be OK.”
To that point, Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau told ESPN Chicago’s “Waddle and Silvy Show” that he didn’t believe Deng would have to have the surgery after the Olympics and would be ready for training camp.
“He’s feeling a lot better; his wrist is a lot stronger,” Thibodeau said last week on ESPN 1000. “I think it’s going to work out well.”

Jeremy Lin And Rockets?
Jeremy Lin And Rockets? - If the Knicks are willing to do anything to keep Jeremy Lin, they’re about to get the chance to prove it. Lin will meet with the Houston Rockets Wednesday and could sign an offer sheet worth close to $40 million. The Knicks, who will have the option to match any offer Lin agrees to, still believe they have a chance to keep Lin and add Steve Nash.
Nash, meanwhile, can cross Brooklyn off his list now that Deron Williams is re-signing with the Nets. It doesn’t mean Nash is coming to the Garden, either, but rather that Jason Kidd could be making a move to New York.
The Knicks’ point guard situation remains unsettled at best. Adding to the drama on Tuesday was Knicks guard Landry Fields agreeing to sign an offer sheet with Toronto, which in theory hurts the Knicks’ chances of acquiring Nash in a potential sign-and-trade with the Phoenix Suns.
Williams became the first domino to fall in the point guard sweepstakes Tuesday night, and Nash could be next, with Toronto and Dallas serious players for him. The Raptors are offering the Canadian citizen a three-year, $36 million contract plus the opportunity to work for the organization once his playing career ends. Dallas, however, can also throw a lot of money at Nash, a former Maverick who maintains a close relationship with Dirk Nowitzki.
If Nash signs with Dallas, Kidd may be the Knicks’ best option. There are reports that the former Nets point guard is deciding between re-signing with Dallas and joining the Knicks, depending on where Nash ends up. The Knicks’ only chance of getting Nash is via a sign-and-trade, and that was complicated by Fields, a restricted free agent, agreeing to a three-year, $20 million deal with Toronto. Fields would have been included in a potential sign-and-trade but he is no longer eligible, even in the unlikely event that the Knicks match the offer.
Iman Shumpert would have to go in a deal for Nash, and there are two major issues with Shumpert: the Knicks don’t want to part with the defensive-minded shooting guard, and Shumpert had major knee surgery in May.
A more plausible scenario for the Knicks would be signing either Kidd or their former point guard, Raymond Felton, as well as re-signing Lin, who is a restricted free agent. Because Lin is restricted, the Knicks have the right to match any offer.
Houston is limited in what it can pay Lin in the first two years of its offer, but the Rockets, just as the Raptors did with Fields, can back-load the deal. Lin could conceivably sign a Houston offer sheet for four years and $40 million, which would place the Knicks over the luxury tax, assuming they match the deal. The Knicks themselves can offer Lin only $20 million over four years.
The Knicks knew for weeks that Lin would explore his options and try to sign a lucrative contract. Although he has started only 25 games, Lin has become a marketing machine and he is looking to capitalize on his instant fame. Lin, who had minor knee surgery in early April, was thinking about his future when he decided not to play in the Knicks’ first-round playoff series. On Monday, Lin withdrew from practicing against the Olympic team in Las Vegas beginning on Friday because he is unsigned.
Nash, meanwhile, can cross Brooklyn off his list now that Deron Williams is re-signing with the Nets. It doesn’t mean Nash is coming to the Garden, either, but rather that Jason Kidd could be making a move to New York.

Sleep deprivation from playing online video games is a huge problem in South Korea.
Earlier this year video game addicts in the country were told they could have the amount of time they spend playing limited to just four hours per day.
The country's government said it was looking at introducing a 'Cooling Off' system to regulate the time students play in a 24-hour period.
It wants to stamp out online bullying, and stem a number of suicides attributed to internet and video game addiction.
Their game will switch off after two hours, where they will be given a 10 minute rest, and can then only log again in once for a maximum two hours in the following 24 hours.
It follows the Shutdown Law, passed in November, which bans gamers under the age of 16 from playing between midnight and 6am.
