Donna Summgtfer home Key West diagnosed with cancer - Donna Summer’s last dance was this week, legendary singer and fabulous diva, lost her battle with cancer and has passed away. The Queen of Disco died on May 17th, at her home in Key West, Florida after a battle with the disease. Donna Summer, born under the sign of Capricorn, was a soulful and sexy singer, who skyrocketed to fame in the 70s with her hit, “Love to Love You Baby.” She is survived by her husband Bruce Sudano, their daughters Brooklyn and Amanda, as well as her daughter Mimi from a previous marriage.
On Twitter, Donna Summer fans and celebrities paid tribute to the singer. Chaka Khan said: “Donna and I had a friendship for over 30 years. She is one of the few black women I could speak German with and she is one of the few friends I had in this business.”
Janet Jackson wrote on her Twitter page that Donna Summer ”changed the world of music with her beautiful voice and incredible talent”.
Even President Obama was a HUGE Donna Summer fan issued a statement on her death:”Michelle and I were saddened to hear about the passing of Donna Summer. A five-time Grammy Award winner, Donna truly was the ‘Queen of Disco.’ Her voice was unforgettable, and the music industry has lost a legend far too soon. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Donna’s family and her dedicated fans.” Awww, that was really nice of him.
For Astrochicks, we love Donna Summer, her spirit will continue to live on in her music and on the dance floors around the world. Thoughts and prayers go out to her husband, kids, family, and friends. Her funeral is expected to be held this week and will be a private service. RIP!
