In a sneak preview of the first episode, Seinfeld explains to his comedic friend Larry David, the difference of ordering herbal tea at a coffee shop instead of coffee.

"We go to an ice cream shop. I get a cone and you get a salad. That's the difference."

Obviously irritated, Osbourne reached over and pressed Mandel's X buzzer for him, while Stern was a little more vocal in his approach.

"You know, the Howie filibuster is getting annoying to me actually," Stern said. "I gotta tell you, Big Barry, this isn't about you. This is about Howie and how he treats the show."

Stern then turned to Mandel and demanded that the judge apologize "to all the people that could have gotten through instead of Big Barry."

TMZ reports that the family doctor was alarmed by Phillips' weight loss, lack of appetite and his overall appearance during Phillips' visit back home in Georgia last Saturday.

Phillips has severe kidney problems that required a stent at the beginning of the competition as a temporary solution until he could have surgery. The condition has worsened, sources tell TMZ, and his doctor advised surgery immediately. Phillips refused because the recovery time is at least six weeks, and he is slated to perform against finalist Jessica Sanchez in Wednesday's live finale.

Phillips' medical complications have affected his role on "American Idol." Medications that cause dry mouth have altered his singing. He also has missed some location shoots, such as one for the Ford commercials, because producers were concerned about how these might impact his health.

"I think the majority of voting comes from middle America so if I can't win them over it's not going to happen. I felt if I was honest and sung from my heart and my passion, that was the best I could do," Testone said.

"Those were the best choices for me," she said of her performances this week, "but probably the majority of people at home want to be able to sing along."

Over the last several weeks on the show, a frustrated Testone challenged some of the conflicting comments from the "Idol" judges and the show's record producer mentor Jimmy Iovine.

"I felt like sometimes the criticism didn't line up, or it was discrediting the things I have achieved...so that was hard," she said.

"I am confident in myself, and that's why I did speak up sometimes because I believe in certain things and I don't want to just keep my mouth shut and smile. I never was trying to be rude or argumentative. It was just honesty.
